Learning to trust and love again when we have been hurt previously, how we need to realize our own self-worth as well. This book talks about learning to move on and how it isn’t always black and white. ![]() When going through a break-up or bad relationship we are often told to “Just get over it.” This is not something that happens overnight and you can end up with lasting trauma from a break-up or relationship. It made me realize that everything I felt was justified and normal. I think this is definitely a book that needs to be out there, this made me feel like I wasn’t alone in how I felt. I needed this book a few times in my past relationships. She has a magical way with words and I will now be looking into her other works. The way Makenzie Campbell writes is so beautiful, even when describing heartbreak. I found this book to be extremely emotional and truthful. It deals with the emotions that come with those topics. This book covered some harsh topics involving relationships and break-ups. ![]() However, this poetry story seemed like something I would connect with, which is why I decided to request it and give it a shot. I should preface this with, I normally don’t read much in poetry as I usually have a hard time connecting with it.
